Safety Program
At Korellis, safety is not just a priority, it is an integral part of our day to day operations as well as being included in the strategic plan of the company. The safety training starts with the new employee orientation. It does not matter if the new person is a first year apprentice or a seasoned journeyman, they receive the same attention as it relates to our safety policies, equipment and overall level of importance.
Each month our entire workforce gets together for a meeting to discuss the results of the job site inspections, preventative measures and near misses. Employees are encouraged to share their ideas about setting up our jobsites in a safe manner.
The most intense training is conducted every year off site at a local banquet facility. Employees are paid for the day to participate in the class room style program. OSHA certified instructors are brought in to provide the latest developments in the safety standards and review the basic procedures as well. The focus is on fall protection. Additional topics in the past have included working with hot materials, vehicle safety and DOT regulations. Other classes included a demonstration of safety gear, proper body mechanics for lifting and effective communications on the job site.
By setting the priority for safety at a high level Korellis Roofing is demonstrating to its employees that their well being is of extreme importance.
